Wang Zhanguo , as the leader of The innovative team of the research and industrialization in materials and devices of the 3rd Semiconductor Silicon Carbide , is an academician of China Academy of Science , a materials physicist and a semiconductor materials scientist .There are 6 important researchers in the team . They aim to industrialize the epilayer materials and devices of the 3rd generation of Silicon Carbide that is a wide- band - gap semiconductor , including five projects, such as the industrialization of SiC materials , the SiC devices growth techniques , the manufacture of equipments for growing epilayers , testing and standardizing the epilayer materials , and the process to grow devices and so on . They ever applied for 23 related patents , 15 authorized patents , and they own 9 SiC epilayer growth techniques , published about 40 theses in SCI and EI .
